As part of its ongoing commitment to provide state-of-the-art facilities, Cebu Normal University (CNU) held a groundbreaking and time capsule laying ceremony for its ICT Modernization Project on 13 June 2025 at the university grounds.

The ceremony was led by University President Dr. Daniel Ariaso Sr. and attended by members of the administrative council, faculty, administrative staff, and students. Representing project partners Lancaster Technology and Development Corporation were authorized representative Martina Meg Azur and project managers Eduardo Pranada Jr. and Keith Duaso.

The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Modernization Development Program is a cornerstone of CNU’s vision to create a SMART Campus, where classrooms and campus facilities are equipped with cutting-edge technology to foster a more efficient and dynamic learning environment. Key components of the program include the Centralized Student Smart Hub, advanced Infrastructure Upgrades, and fully integrated Smart Classrooms, all designed to streamline student learning and campus operations.

Through this initiative, CNU is investing in advanced ICT systems to streamline everyday campus operations, making transactions more convenient for students and staff alike. In partnership with Lancaster Technology and Development Corporation and Net Pacific Inc., the program will enhance processes such as enrollment, document management, and secure online access to essential university services.

More than a technological upgrade, the ICT Modernization Project represents a transformative leap toward digital excellence in Philippine higher education. By integrating innovative solutions across all campus operations, CNU aims to empower students and faculty, improve administrative efficiency, and set a new benchmark for modern, technology-driven learning environments.
